Often we just don’t understand the value of the environment we surround ourselves with but I hope this post helps shift your perspective!
In the last three years, I’ve really learned the value of exposing yourself to as many different thoughts, ideas, perspectives and people as you can. The more you learn to see things from multiple angles, the more you start to understand how the world works which ultimately enables you to solve bigger problems, and become more valuable. This is the real definition of education in my opinion.
Success is in the eye of the beholder and successful people come in many different forms but as you expose yourself to these types of people, you start to see that there is actually no secret to success, but rather some common traits that they seem to constantly work at possessing like integrity, love, passion, work ethic, persistence, consistency, humility, and above all else, ACTION. The point I’m trying to make is that success is simple but not obvious which is why it eludes so many!
It’s important to expose yourself to other people who, in your opinion, are doing great things because you will ultimately emulate who you’re surrounded by and what you see so make sure your environment and the people in it are what you want to become!
Finally, I’d like to end this short post with a beautiful African proverb that just isn’t quoted enough:
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together!”
